Air 100 and 200 customers have contacted us regarding an announcement they have received regarding BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as other regional BBC stations.
The announcement mentions that your device will not be able to stream BBC radio programs after 22nd March 2021 due to a switch in the internet radio service provider:
"The way your device receives BBC radio programmes will stop working on or after the 22nd March 2021. If you’re using an internet radio or smart speaker, please contact the device manufacturer. If you’re using an app on another device, we recommend you listen using the BBC Sounds app or website".
A new version of the Air app is now available via the Apple App Store, which we recommend users upgrade to via their iOS device. This update will switch the internet radio provider for the Air speaker from one that these BBC stations are no longer supported on to one that they will be supported on, as well as address known bugs and issues within the app.
IMPORTANT: Once you have updated the Air app, please ensure that you overwrite existing BBC radio presets with new ones using the new Air app. This will ensure that the newly updated radio station provider is being used to manage the streams for your Air device.
