We have been made aware that there is an issue affecting some users receiving a Chromecast error message on startup of their device, or their device not showing up as an option in lists of Chromecast enabled devices.
Upon further investigation this has been confirmed as an error with Google's cloud authentication server, preventing some devices from showing up with the necessary Google Chromecast verification. This is an issue on Google's side which they are aware of and we have been informed that they are working on a fix for this, currently scheduled for mid-March. We would suggest contacting Google Chromecast service's direct for more information.
