The good news is that the last Melomania 1 firmware update was released in July (V6.6), and so any Melomania 1's purchased since September will already come with the latest firmware already installed!
If your Melomania 1 has a serial number ending in 6959 or higher (the serial number can be found on the inside of the charge case lid), than you will already have the latest firmware version installed on the earbuds, and you will therefore not be required to perform a firmware update on them at this time in order to get the best performance from them. Any new firmware that is released for the earbuds in the future will be announced on the Melomania 1 support page here.
Unfortunately, at present it is only possible to update the firmware on the Melomania 1 from an Android device. Firmware update with an iOS device is not possible at present, and we do apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
We are also aware that the firmware upgrade process as detailed on the Melomania 1 support page is not ideal in it's present form, and can be rather convoluted. We are looking at ways of improving this going forward. We have found that it can take a few attempts for both earbuds to 'take' to a firmware upgrade, and sometimes it may be worth deleting and reinstalling the app if it constantly crashes or stalls, and ensuring that you have a strong network or internet connection whilst performing the firmware upgrade process is recommended.
Please be aware that the GAIA app is a third party app that we use to upload new firmware onto the Melomania 1, and it is not a Cambridge Audio application. If you do encounter any issues with the GAIA app itself we advise you to contact the developers themselves direct, as we will not be able to offer any assistance or support on any issues regarding the GAIA app itself.
