Network Players - Roon

Relevant Products: Azur 851N, CXN v1 & v2, Stream Magic 6 v2

Our devices are not currently 'Roon Ready' however, if you are using a Roon Core on a Mac or Windows PC, you can still use your subscription to connect to our units via:

USB Audio

Connect a USB A to B cable between your PC or Mac and the Cambridge Audio network player and select “USB Audio” as the desired digital input through the network players' interface.

You can then use the Roon Control app on your Smartphone or Tablet to control the content playing on your computer.

AirPlay lets you stream audio from any Apple device to your unit.

You don't have to use Apple Music for this function to work, however. Simply select your unit from the AirPlay devices menu and any audio your device would usually produce will be transmitted wirelessly.

Chromecast Audio

If you own a Chromecast Audio device, you can connect this to one of our Network Players' inputs and use the Cast function to play files up to 24Bit/96kHz wirelessly. We would recommend using an optical connection between the Chromecast and the unit rather than the 3.5mm jack included with the Chromecast as using a digital input will result in any audio being upsampled to 24Bit/384kHz.
