There is a Subtitle Shift feature in the playback setup menu on the CXU. This feature shifts the vertical position of the subtitles which can be useful for different aspect ratios. If this value has been set to max/min, it may have pushed the subtitles off of the visible screen area.
Altering this Subtitle Shift value will bring the subtitles back to your preferred position.
