What Is AirPlay And How Does It Work?

AirPlay is Apple's wireless streaming technology. It enables audio from devices such as the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and PCs/Macs running iTunes to be sent wirelessly to audio products such as your Air 100 or 200.

AirPlay uses your network router to connect these devices, meaning that unlike Bluetooth, the data is sent via the router and not directly to the product.
