Information about the latest 650BD firmware update

3rd February 2015 - 650BD-15-1020, 650CU-15-1020, 650RU-15-1020

There is a new firmware update for the 650BD. Features of the new update include;

 - Improved BD disc compatibility with new releases such as “X-Men: Days of Future Past"

The easiest way to update the player is simply to connect it to the internet using the Ethernet connection on the back. Each time you switch the player on it will check to see if any firmware updates are available and will prompt you on screen.

You can also carry out the update via USB by following the instructions below. You should only load the correct version (region) for your player.

  • Region A: America, Japan, Korea, South East Asia
  • Region B: Greenland, Europa, Africa, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand
  • Region C: China, India, Russia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Central, and South Asia

You can check which region your 650BD is by looking at the rear panel. The region will be displayed in a small hexagonal icon
